Random Acts of Christmas
I got to spend a lot of time with baby brother during his Fall break and as always, we shared a lot of good food and laughs. We also got to catch up and a lot of his friends are experiencing hardships, it seems. One is dealing with the death of his brother and the other a terrible break up. It got us thinking about what we could do to brighten their day and so, we decided to whip up a couple batches of cupcakes to deliver to each one of his friends that are going through a tough time.
Red Velvet…individually cased in clear cups to ensure that they make it through the trip.
This struck me with even greater inspiration and so, I’ve decided to undertake a project for myself dubbed, “Random Acts of Christmas.” Each week, aside from “Pack Away Hunger,” I’ll be anonymously donating food or doing something kind for both strangers and friends…I hope this inspires you to love and include your neighbor. You just never know when someone is going through a tough time.
Love & Cupcakes,
Your Squishy Monster ^.~

‘Random Acts of Christmas’ is a gorgeous idea! Nothing better than food to nurture the soul. I’ve been doing a bit of that myself lately, to friends and family in need. Sometimes words can fail us, but food speaks volumes. Great post. The cupcakes look fab too!
Food definitely speaks in volumes!
Oh aren’t you sweet! I love that idea
I love the concept of paying it forward
That’s a fantastic idea and a great example of the real christmas spirit so many forget x
Loving the title! Kindness is my favorite word. I love your motivation for others to do the same random acts. Sometimes it only takes a smile, a small gesture, and a hug. So many people are struggling. Love your post. I love doing the anonymous giving too : )
And this is why I love Squishy Monster so much lol. Keep being awesome <3!!
Cupcakes make me instantly happy and so I’m sure that these cuties put a smile on your brother’s friends’ faces!
What s beautiful and generous thing to do. Here in Toronto people sometimes ‘pay it forward’ and buy the person in line behind them a cup of coffee or lunch!
What a wonderful idea. I really want to do the same as we are so blessed. The children love service projects and I have to consciously remember to implement these or the month just goes by so fast.
What a lovely thing to do. Food is definitely the way to give people comfort.
That was very sweet! The cupcakes look amazing!
this is a wonderful idea ^^! there’s nothing like sharing food to convey care or love.. ^^ you’re sweet, squish!
Aww that was so sweet of you!
What a sweet and beautiful idea my friend
That is awesome – sometimes just knowing someone else cares is enough to lift someones mood. Very thoughtful! Hope you had a great holiday
I hope you did too!!
Sweet–pun intended
I hope it starts another pay it forward movement.
I myself LOVE receiving food gifts!
I saved 2 for myself and polished them off this morning for breakfast, lol.
One day, I hope to make a much larger difference but even then, it’ll begin with food.
I can’t believe 2013 is just around the corner…you have some lovely children and I hope you continue to share their adventures with us.
My experience in Toronto was amazing..I can’t wait to go back!!!
I do hope so.
and I love YOU, Tiana!! Thanks for sticking with me through all the changes!! ^.^
I know that when I’m down, a hug is all it takes, sometimes =)
Sadly true. I hope this spurs a movement—even if it’s a baby one.
me too =)
=)
Having gone through a sort of break up with a lady I had great affections and hopes for, experiencing many deaths of those I love and car e for this year,The death of my older sister in June, etc. So many of my friends in their late thirties to early fifties have had to deal with hard ships . Thanks God a nephew of mine Eric. he was coming home from work, a few weeks ago, 2 drunk truck drivers hit him destroying his car and the SEAT was forced from the car. He may have loss of vision in one eye , THANK GOD he is alive!SCARED TO EATH to get near a car right now!!

First of all, I just want to say that I really love your header. Your blog design is so cute!
Also, I love the idea of packaging cupcakes in clear cups–just saw that on Pinterest the other day and can’t wait to try! Not to mention donating treats and kind favors to people–such a great idea. I will definitely try to practice this soon!
That sounds like a great challenge!
What an awesome idea! Even though I’m not working, I can still do this. I will cut out one thing a week that I can do without and make something for someone else
You are the sweetest! I love this idea. I will do anything to help a stranger, but mainly animals. I will be donating to charities in this desperate time of need, more than usual. Random acts of kindness are the best. <3 your work!
I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
Your idea just made me smile! I’m in! =) PS – Love the idea for the red velvet cuppies!
LOL what a great concept!
This is very sweet and generous. Food is a great way to show you care, too.

Absolutely! ..though, I can’t take complete credit as it was the brainchild of us both, lol.
The fact that so many people are on board makes me insanely happy. I will be looking forward to the loveliness that you share. You come up with some amazing things, my friend!

Aw, thanks Erika! I’ve been meaning to get a cc carrier but couldn’t justify spending even $20 on one so I improvised…worked great.
I would SO bake you cupcakes and hand deliver them if you were close by! I love your spirit. Keep on keeping on, Les!!!!
