Birthday Bits

This was definitely the best birthday I’ve had to date.  I spent it with amazing people and delicious food, making happy memories.  I couldn’t have asked for more.

I feel incredibly blessed that my folks are still with me and this birthday was marked by a very special handmade gift from my daddy.  When he and mama first met, one of his earlier tactics to woo her was to whittle her gifts.  He was young, broke, and madly in love with her and apparently, this translated well because some 40 years later, they’re still going strong!  It touched me so deeply that daddy spent 3 weeks making these in secret, despite his failing eyesight and I guess I’m special enough to be the second lady ever to receive such sweet handmade flowers from this incredibly taciturn yet thoughtful man.  I love you both!

The gastronomical affair that was my birthday feast {which paraded on for days} was presented by one very special and gallant gentleman whom I affectionately refer to as J.  We’re set to explore the Bahamas at the end of the month, too.  Boy, am I a lucky girl!

And even included a show to see Matisyahu, Rebelution, and Collie Buddz {including vip from the boss man}!

A big thank you for all the birthday wishes.  Cheers to the best upcoming year yet!

Love,

Your very grateful Squishy Monster ^.~
