Weekend Bits
I hope that everyone enjoyed their long weekend, I know I did!
Our collaborative labor day cook out with filet, brats, beans, potatoes, collards, summer salad, and fruit.
A very special birthday for a very special lady!
The best falafel in town.
A stroll around the international market and a stop for snacks { and mango smoothie with lychee jellies}.
Our mini harvest {and my potatoes are starting to come in}!!
Racing in a go-cart like I’m 12 again and screaming and laughing my lungs out.
And capping off the weekend with a local arts/crafts/food carnival/festival.
What was the best thing you ate this Labor Day?
Love,
Your Squishy Monster ^.~

I can tell that you definitely did have a delicious and fun weekend! Your blueberry cheesecake looks terrific, Angie.
Delicious and interesting photos Angie. I had a great extended week end also.Enjoy your day and week!!

Les.
Thanks, Les!
I will definitely be looking into those alternatives that you provided!
Looks like a fun filled weekend, with fantastic food too. Geesh, look at all those f’s I just type Best food this weekend a take out pizza, I haven’t had one in soooo long and it hit the spot! I know crazy right?
I LOVE pizza! Can’t go wrong with it…except I wish they had one topped with french fries, lol
That cheesecake is something else! Looks like your weekend was full of delicious food made with LOVE.
Best way to do it, in my opinion
I’ve always wanted to try an Elk burger, did you like it ?
I did + lots of protein but what I didn’t like was the fact that it was twice as expensive as their beef counterpart :/
Whoa, quite a weekend of eating, how do you manage to stay so slim?
Love you garden harvest.
Elk burger? Now that is something I’d be very curious to try out. I’ve been wanting to try out bison too and I had no idea there even WERE elk burgers out there. Didn’t know you could eat elk like that. Oh, how little do I know. It looks awesome!
Loving the look of that cheesecake too
Oh my heavens, I’ve gained just looking at these festive dishes! I LOVE Elk! Thankfully, my son-in-law is a hunter and he cooks me up some burgers when I visit Idaho.
Thanks for sharing, Angela…
That cheesecake is calling my name! Everything else looks so delicious — what a great weekend you all had
The elk burger sounds delicious!
i still haven’t had falafel yet! i got to try it soon.8)
The cheesecake looks amazing and I love bone marrow
One more successful weekend, from what I see. I’m having Korean pork dish today for lunch and luckily because otherwise Pork belly on corn cakes would make me hungry all day.
I love that you’re always eating Korean food!!
J didn’t like it so much… More for me!
I like it a lot and it was hearty enough to not make me hungry for hours (which is so unlike me bc I’m always hungry, lol)
I can’t wait to have it again!
It wasn’t a huge portion but yummy nonetheless.
Thanks, Kiran!
That is awesome! I bet fresh elk is truly unbeatable!
I was first introduced to it all I’m Wyoming and it’s been a craving ever since.
There’s a monster in my belly, a squishy one–she’s very hungry
damn, the roasted bone marrow is finger lick’in good,
btw, the elk dish is sounds preety good too
what a luscious life you’ve got my friend!
Lol, thank you. I certainly don’t starve
Now that’s a weekend!! Love roasted bone marrow. ..geeeewd
I’m sure you had an awesome weekend with delicious food! Everything looks so good! Seems like you have a pretty good harvest from the garden too. Love those potatoes.
Roasted bone marrow looks really good. I think I might have to diet after a fun eating weekend like this. As you know they do not celebrate Labor day in China but I made slow roasted BBQ ribs with my fig and caramelised onion BBQ sauce for my boys.
Teeny tiny potatoes make me feel gigantic =)
Oooh, YUM! What a celebration!
Birthday cheesecake AND falafel?! Sounds like a perfect weekend to me!
Wow, what an amazing weekend Angela.
Sounds like you had great fun and wonderful treats.
Cheers.
It sounds like a terrific weekend with lots of good things to eat and loads of fun. I haven’t been on a bumper car in years.
We were speed racing in those things, it was so much fun!
Cheers to another weekend ahead!
A delicious one that I’m striving to beat this weekend, LOL
Pork belly on corn cakes?! My mouth was already watering by the first photo.
I like pork belly and corn cakes too so that one was a no brainer =)
Pork Belly is Sooooo Delish!
Hi Angela, what a fun weekend. Yes, enjoy yourself cos you’re only young once.
YOLO! I hope you have a great Sunday too, my friend!
I agree!!
