Weekend Bits
On I wrote, “If I must dust off my jacket and say goodbye to the sun, apple picking and apple cider will make the transition easier ;)” Autumn is actually my favorite time of the year. I love the blazing reds and golden bronzes that the leaves take on and the heavy swirl of spice in the air, but I’m always reluctant to bid the sun goodbye. It seemed that yesterdays trek to pick apples was graciously set in what was to be the last quasi-warm day and it was beautiful!
J is always saying how incredibly blessed we are that we live somewhere situated just mere hours away from both the mountains and the beach.
Hot & fluffy apple cider donuts.
All washed down by freshly pressed apple cider.
Like a child, I oohed and ahed at the variety of glowing orbs of fresh fruit dripping from trees like jewels.
I discovered that I am not a fan of the Arkansas Black {In an unrelated fyi, did you know that the flesh turns black in storage?}
but that the deliciousness of the Cameo was something I’ve been missing out on!
How was your weekend? Did you get to share any Autumn-y goodies?
Love,
Your Squishy Monster ^.~

Beautiful pictures Angie. I will miss the warm weather also. I am missing it already. LOl. 45 balmy degrees in the western suburban Chicago metro area. Have a great day!
Love.
Les.
I am glad that you had a great weekend, Angie. Don’t think I have ever had Arkansas Black…now I am really curious about the taste.
The cider doughnuts look so good and fluffy. the pictures are so beautiful. Glad you had a great weekend.
Angie, these pictures are so beautiful! You are the Mario Testino of food fotografie
My fav is the one with the cider donut. Looks so tempting.
I’m a summer girl but even for a fall hater like myself…I love your photos…and I love apples
Oh don’t you just love the trees and apples?? Such beautiful pictures you have btw Super cute!
I have been craving apple cider donuts so bad, but now I’m craving them even more! Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing!
For your belly’s sake, I hope you get to enjoy some soon. I inhaled 3 the moment the clamshell was opened!
Thanks, Cailee! I totally had a mini apple picnic beneath the trees
I bet it’s already freezing in NY!
You are too kind!!
Hope you did too, Ash!
I found it kind of tasteless and too firm. It wasn’t as juicy and refreshing as the other dozen varieties there, I thought.
Glad I’m not alone in this
they not have apple cider slushies?! haha yep..fresh donuts is the BOMB!
Teehee, I like your homage to Twilight in the last pic! Dennis did that with a little pumpkin we were using as a prop during our maternity photo shoot (I didn’t share those photos b/c they relate to an upcoming post) and the photographer totally didn’t get it. lol! Anyway, I’m so jealous of your appliciousness – I actually prefer apples and apple treats over pumpkin stff in the fall but somehow the pumpkin always wins out (peer pressure?) and I always make more pumpkin stuff.
And I’ll tell you, I’m enjoying summer goodies right now b/c for some crazy reason, raspberries are $1 a pint right now! I’ve bought 20 pints this week and we’ve already eaten half of them! I was hoping to make jam with some but I don’t think I’ll get to – lol.
It’s spring in Australia as we speak but because I live in Melbourne, it still feels like winter!
That apple cider donut certainly looks delicious
Great pictures and I just love apple cider donuts, now I am on a mission to find me some.
I’ve been holding on to summer with all my might Angela. It just won’t stay. it isn’t as if I don’t enjoy Fall though. I really got in the mood at the Punkin Chunkin this past weekend. This weekend I’m hoping to finally make it apple picking.
Your pictures are simply gorgeous. I’ve never heard of the Arkansas Black, but Cameo apples are indeed yummy. So glad you are embracing the changing of the season. I’m right behind you.
Thanks for sharing, Angela…
Wonderful photos!
Fall is my favorite time of the year, love the colors. I too am sorry to see the end of summer, but it shall return next year and that is something to look forward to.
This is very true, Norma! Thanks for reminding me
Thank you ^^
I hope you do, there’s wonder in the labyrinth of trees!
Good luck, it’s so worth the hunt!
Can’t wait to see, V! Now I’m curious to see if my market is doing the same thing. I actually had to good the Twilight pic and lol!!
They did and i think it’s the only thing I didn’t get a taste of!
Wish we could swap, still
You definitely got your autumn on!! Apple picking is the best.
Angie. Question please?Do you know of any companies that will assist some one in marketing and developing a UNIQUE FOOD ITEM? Maybe even considering buying same from the creator of the unique food item? Thank you. Have a great day!
love.
Les.
Wish I could help, Les. Unfortunately I have no idea
I see you got your autumn on too, Jo
I am jealous how you can experience fall. Great pictures.
