Easy No Bake Rum Balls
Rum balls are all the rage here in the caribbean and with all the free flowing rum {that’s sometimes cheaper than water}, I can see why. I love this recipe because it’s entirely no-bake and no fuss while coming together in less than 10 minutes with just 3 or 4 ingredients. With summer fast approaching, this recipe is perfect since you don’t even have to turn on an oven and it’s simple enough to whip up for any occasion.
When we received several bottles of Cruzan rum from our new friends and neighbors, I knew just what I wanted to do with it to turn into edible thank you’s. These are soft and fudge-y with just the right amount of sweetness and zip from the rum. I personally don’t like my sweets too sweet but feel free to taste the dough as you go and add in sugar or honey if you so desire. This recipe calls for just a handful of ingredients, one of them being rum, but if you don’t feel like making these “adult flavored,” you can always substitute the rum for orange juice {or coffee!}
- 2.5 c crushed oreos
- 2 tb room temperature cream cheese
- Pinch of salt and instant espresso
- 2-3 tb rum {juice or coffee}
- Optional topping: cacao/cocoa, coconut flakes, crushed nuts, etc
- In a bowl, mix everything {except the optional ingredients} to bind into a wet, cohesive dough.
- Scoop out spoonfuls and roll in your optional topping.

Can I make this ahead for a party and if so, how many days ahead do you think I can do it and how would you keep it? Thank you! It looks amazing!
Hi, Carissa! I’ve made these 3 days before an event and kept them in an airtight container in the fridge and they maintained themselves well =)
