What’s Been Going On?

Home.

I’m back on my beloved island after 4 months of being away, 2 of those being apart from my husband.  It’s been about a month since my return and this is the first wifi I’ve had a chance to link to though, if you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you know I’ve been better about updating there with the random bits of cell service I can pick up on.  There are days when I don’t have any cell service and we’re suppose to get internet back up and running soon.  Every day more things get repaired.  The island is improving.  When my husband first arrived on island, our place still had no electricity and some of our friends had been without any the entire time but still, the island is improving.

I still remember my heart rapidly beating with anticipation and excitement as the plane landed.  The moment I stepped off the airplane, the lush green of our island took my breath away.  It was internally chaotic to leave a place with no running water, crumbling homes and trees stripped to bare bones to then be served ice on a plane to arrive in a glittering concrete jungle where you can get pretty much anything you want delivered right to your door with your magical cell phone wand.  After living out of a backpack for months, I returned from snow in suburbia to the land I love so much.  A land where I feel so wild and free.

Much has transpired during this time.  We are simultaneously tending to many projects and celebrated our wedding anniversary just last month.  It’s the first time we haven’t traveled on another adventure together, per our tradition because the island needs us and we’re ok with that.

When internet returns, I intend on releasing new videos focused more on island living.  I will continue posting content here on my blog and am also working on a new e-book which will go live soon as well.  I thank you for your patience and I’ll see you soon on my channel!
