Vegan Cheese That Melts & Stretches

Serves: 4" cheese wheel
  • 1 can full fat coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon agar powder
  • ½ tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar or fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 2 tablespoons tapioca flour/starch
  1. In a pot, combine the milk, agar, vinegar/lemon, garlic, salt and yeast. Stir and bring to a boil.
  2. Slowly sprinkle in the tapioca while stirring.
  3. Cook until thick and stretchy (about 5 minutes).
  4. Pour into non stick or greased mold. A 4 inch spring form pan is perfect.
  5. Cool on the counter then chill in the fridge until it sets (about 2 hours).
  6. Use as desired.
