Weekend Bits
One of my faaavorite people in the world is home for Spring break and I couldn’t be more elated. Obviously, it’s moments like this that call for even more food than unusual and I, for one, can’t complain.
I made Kim Bap for snacking,
We got Vietnamese for dinner,
and sprawled out in the sun all day sipping chocolate infused espresso.
A sushi run the next day amounted to
Squid salad
Agedashi tofu
the ever delicious eel hand roll
and hot mochi cakes with green tea ice cream for dessert!
at the new hot spot for dinner
Braised pork belly and jerk chicken
Seared scallops
Sunday funday:
This is my new very special friend J’s first hive check of the season. 80k bees produce the most gorgeous golden honey, not a bad trade off for a few bee stings here and there if you ask me *insert sheepish grin*
A walk at the local park
and I found this little guy wrapped around flower petals…a good a place as any
Birthday dinner that included grilled pesto shrimp and 3 different types of cheesecake? That is what I call a win-win, sir!
A crazy fun drag show to cap the weekend.
and flowers for moi.
As I write this, I’m listening to baby brother strum his guitar in the next room and unfurl his heart wrenching lyrics and I smile, pause, and continue to write.
I can’t wait to eat through this next week with him!
Life can apparently sting like bees but it’s nothing that cheesecake and family can’t fix!
Love always,
your Squishy Monster ^.~

I love agedashi tofu. I always make it a point to get some at my local H Mart. The drag show looked fun!
Soooo fun!
The food looks stunning. The flowers are beautiful! I think that lil lizard is smart. What better place to chill out than on a flower?! I’m assuming it was your birthday, so happy birthday!! xoxo
My birthdays are often sad. This was a happy affair but not my birthday…I have high hopes for my next one =)

My LATE GREAT GRAND DADDY Charlie on my LATE GREAT DADDY ROBERT Nixon,s side was a bee keeper! Important and fascinating bees are! My DAD once as a boy he told all of us and MOMMA was chewing a piece of honey comb, He did not know but quickly discovered a bee was still in it! OUCH!!!!!!!!!LOL.
Have a great day and week Angie!Below is a youtube of my towns annual ST PATRICK;S DAY parade. Friends, family and myself were near an intersection and enjoyed the entire parade. Candy, necklace hand outs, ( Kisses and cuddles from some nice LADIES I know in the area and more!0
