My Trip to the Korean Store

Personally, I visit so often, it’s like going to the regular grocery store and isn’t marked as any sort of special occasion but a lot of you have messaged me in regards to the inaccessibility of some of the ingredients used for Korean Cooking and figured this might be of interest to my unlucky friends that live in places that don’t have Asian Markets or those who are unfamiliar with them.

Here is my mini haul (I’m chuckling to myself because a year ago, I didn’t even know what a “haul” was and became horrified by some of the videos I saw where girls were presenting gigantic hauls consisting of Makeup, Clothes, Polish, Shoes, Perfumes, Lotions, Pomades, Brushes, Accessories, etc).

Napa Cabbage, Sweet Rice Flour (Yellow Pack), Roasted Soybean Powder (Blue/Green Pack), and 5 lbs of Gochugaru (Pepper Flakes)…which goes in so many things that for me, it was absolutely necessary to buy so much of it.  It goes into Soups, Sauces, Banchan (Korean Side Dishes) and all sorts of Kimchi (of course)!  I’m going to make some Kimchi tonight so I’ll post pics tomorrow =D

Mango-Banana-Melon “Hi-Chews.”  I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m quite addicted to these.  They’re “juicy,” and taste like the actual fruit–it’s uncanny!

My Moms FAVORITE: Korean Sweet Potatoes…these are so bomb, you can eat them straight up after baking them off in a 350 oven for 45-60 minutes.  They’re sweet & tender and I’ll be doing a video using them soon!

For the love of Asian Supermarkets!!!!!

Love,
Your Squishy Monster =D
